Rainforests of the Atsinanana – World Heritage Site in Africa

The rainforest of the Atsinanana is inscribed with some other national parks in the world as UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is located in 1,600 kilometer eastern part of Madagascar. Rainforest is needed to keep the biological processes and also ecological processes in the world. There are some species in this area such as lemurs and also primates. There are some floras too there and some researchers come to this place to see the unique flora from this place. It is good to go there in the summer because there is no heavy rain and the temperature is warmer.

How to reach this place? Government gave permission for all tourists to go to this place since it was a world heritage site. Government also made a special programs so all people can visit and see the most marvelous rainforest here. You can reach this place from various accesses. Some tourists like to go from Ranomafana or city near Fianarantsoa. The other tourist uses different access such as from Andohahela or Andringitra.

If you visit other national park in Masoala, and also Marojely, you will be able to find bungalow there. There is difficult transportation there and you can reach the rainforest on foot only. Government needs to develop transportation and also tourist facility there. There is no human population in this area. You can see human population at least 2.5 km from the buffer zone. There is no certain entry fee for you because you need to hike mountain and pass some valleys first.
